Illinois Action for Children
Job Opportunities

Infant Toddler Child Care Specialist
The Infant Toddler Child Care Specialist will engage child care practitioners in specific, intensive consultation to increase the accessibility of infant and toddler child care in Illinois. Duties include: engage in relationship-based, specific, intensive consultation with child care practitioners including staff, directors and family child care practitioners; identify infant toddler needs in each CCR&R service delivery area (SDA); provide on-site technical assistance based on an assessment of the infant toddler program. (e.g., PITC Principles, ITERS, etc.) and work with community partners, e.g., businesses and schools, to increase awareness of the importance of brain development and the impact that high quality child care has on the developing child. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field; five years of experience working with young children with a minimum of two years in an infant/toddler child care setting; excellent communications skills; accessibility to reliable personal transportation with insurance, valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally with occasional statewide travel required; demonstrated knowledge of and respect for the ways in which adults learn and adjust to change. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Quality Counts QRS Specialist
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Provider Resources, the Quality Counts QRS Specialists will maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Quality Rating & Tiered Reimbursement System (QRS). QRS Specialists will advance all program improvement efforts to home based and center based programs. Duties include: maintain knowledge and understanding of QRS policies, related trainings, training tiers, star levels and processes; provide orientations on the QRS system and process, distributes materials and supplies, provide updates of QRS specific information to Illinois Action for Children and Community Partner staff; develop and coordinate QRS program improvement co-horts that will include trainings related to the Quality Rating System. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and one to two years experience in early childhood development/education; strong desire to work with ethnically and economically diverse populations, particularly those with limited access to resources (financial and professional); ability to work with a flexible schedule, which may include nights and/or weekends; valid driver's license, access to reliable personal transportation and insurance required; ability to speak effectively before groups of providers or employees of external organizations; ability to travel locally, with occasional statewide and national travel; effective program management within budgetary constraints; meeting or exceeding program goals. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Position Summary: This individual is responsible for providing support to the Chief Executive Officer for campus related projects, community outreach and education to improve the health of the community.

Essential Functions:
  • Represents the organization to and facilitate activities with external constituents, enhancing the Robert Crown brand and image.
  • Serve as the staff support to The Healthy Living Council in Aurora. This is a community coalition of stakeholders working to foster a community that promotes, supports, and advocates for wellness through life lasting healthy habits.
  • Functions as the primary liaison for the Aurora campus in advancing the mission of the Robert Crown Centers for Health Education. This includes, but is not limited to, civic leaders, faculty and staff of Aurora University and the Aurora community.
  • Represent the Chief Executive Officer at community and educational forums.
  • Actively seeks opportunities for educational outreach and partnerships.
  • With the manager of foundation and government relations, participate in relevant grant activities, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to take initiative and to pro-actively anticipate organizational needs.
  • Manage campus activities as assigned. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on administrative activities.
  • Meets outcome targets and communicates progress to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Seeks opportunities to showcase the organization through public forums, broadcast media and educational programming.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities in order to support the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required; experience in public speaking preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Mastery of educational and business software is required. Proficiency in MS Office is required. Keen attention to detail, troubleshooting and analysis required.

Environmental Demands:

Chief Development Officer

Reports to Chief Executive Officer

Essential Functions:
  • Leads an aggressive effort to expand private funding focused on major gifts, planned giving, annual fund, a gala event, corporate and foundation funding, and marketing and public relations.
  • Leads staff, board and volunteers in the solicitation of major gifts and corporate gifts.
  • Develops and administers effective Resource Development Office, supervising and coordinating work of development staff and volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, directs and coordinates Center's fundraising, public relations, and corporate volunteer programs, and supervises fundraising staff, overseeing all aspects of development program from donor cultivation to recognition.
  • Serves as senior staff liaison to Board of Directors and appropriate committees and task groups. Sits on the Leadership Team.
  • Meets individuals and public and private groups to represent the Center and interpret the Center's programs and services. Initiates and develops relationships with supporting agencies, organizations, and corporations. Asks or coordinates ask for significant gifts.
  • Oversees analysis of data and oversees the maintenance of accurate and timely records to measure progress and effectiveness. Prepares written and oral reports as required.
  • Analyzes potential market, plans and implements fundraising goals designed to maximize resources. Participates in Center's strategic planning, advising on effect of plans on potential resources. Recommends Center policies regarding fundraising, public relations and other related areas.
  • Evaluates campaign results, recommends changes, and provides counsel and assistance to lay leadership and campaign personnel to increase their effectiveness.
  • Coordinates development and dissemination of annual reports, newsletters, appeals and promotional and/or public relations materials.
  • Prepares, recommends and administers budgets related to area of responsibility.
  • Understands and implements the Developmental Assets model of the SEARCH Institute.
  • Participates in Center-wide events, programs and celebrations as required.
  • Participates in supervision meetings and workshops within the Center and outside (if applicable).
  • Participates in 20 hours of staff development training per year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least ten years experience in a mid to upper management position, supervising staff and practicing resource development. Proven success in major gift and corporate campaigns. Minimum of 3 years experience in securing major individual and corporate gifts in a non profit environment.

Ability to pass a background check and if required the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services fingerprint and background check. In this key position, you will be responsible to deliver the highest level of customer service through timely and accurate communication, order processing, product registration and sales & marketing support of assigned distributors and international branches. Position is based in the Chicago area.

The Company is looking for a well spoken, organized individual who shows an ability to grow and change with the needs of the business. The position's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing customer service support: order, shipping and claims processing.
  • Assuring compliance for all export documentation and legal requirements
  • Investigating inventory/product availability matters
  • Analyzing monthly receivables and issuing monthly account statements
  • Tracking overall product registration progress
  • Generating monthly sales, claims, aging and regulatory reports/metrics
Required Qualifications:
  • Spanish a MUST (verbal and written fluency)
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in International Business or related field
  • Work experience in an export manufacturing environment
  • Must have 2-3 years international customer service, and/or inside sales experience
  • Prior experience in import/export documentation
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented with strong ability in time management, problem solving, organization and follow through
  • Ability to work independently
Following qualifications are not essential but would be a distinct advantage:
  • Proficiency in AS400
  • French language skills (verbal and written)
