Position Summary: This individual is responsible for providing support to the Chief Executive Officer for campus related projects, community outreach and education to improve the health of the community.

Essential Functions:
  • Represents the organization to and facilitate activities with external constituents, enhancing the Robert Crown brand and image.
  • Serve as the staff support to The Healthy Living Council in Aurora. This is a community coalition of stakeholders working to foster a community that promotes, supports, and advocates for wellness through life lasting healthy habits.
  • Functions as the primary liaison for the Aurora campus in advancing the mission of the Robert Crown Centers for Health Education. This includes, but is not limited to, civic leaders, faculty and staff of Aurora University and the Aurora community.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads an aggressive effort to expand private funding focused on major gifts, planned giving, annual fund, a gala event, corporate and foundation funding, and marketing and public relations.
  • Leads staff, board and volunteers in the solicitation of major gifts and corporate gifts.
  • Develops and administers effective Resource Development Office, supervising and coordinating work of development staff and volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, directs and coordinates Center's fundraising, public relations, and corporate volunteer programs, and supervises fundraising staff, overseeing all aspects of development program from donor cultivation to recognition.
  • Serves as senior staff liaison to Board of Directors and appropriate committees and task groups. Sits on the Leadership Team.
  • Meets individuals and public and private groups to represent the Center and interpret the Center's programs and services. Initiates and develops relationships with supporting agencies, organizations, and corporations. Asks or coordinates ask for significant gifts.
  • Oversees analysis of data and oversees the maintenance of accurate and timely records to measure progress and effectiveness. Prepares written and oral reports as required.
  • Analyzes potential market, plans and implements fundraising goals designed to maximize resources. Participates in Center's strategic planning, advising on effect of plans on potential resources. Recommends Center policies regarding fundraising, public relations and other related areas.
  • Evaluates campaign results, recommends changes, and provides counsel and assistance to lay leadership and campaign personnel to increase their effectiveness.
  • Coordinates development and dissemination of annual reports, newsletters, appeals and promotional and/or public relations materials.
  • Prepares, recommends and administers budgets related to area of responsibility.
  • Understands and implements the Developmental Assets model of the SEARCH Institute.
  • Participates in Center-wide events, programs and celebrations as required.
  • Participates in supervision meetings and workshops within the Center and outside (if applicable).
  • Participates in 20 hours of staff development training per year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least ten years experience in a mid to upper management position, supervising staff and practicing resource development. Proven success in major gift and corporate campaigns. Minimum of 3 years experience in securing major individual and corporate gifts in a non profit environment.

Ability to pass a background check and if required the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services fingerprint and background check. Program Manager (Grant Funded)

Seeking an experienced program manager with strong management skills to oversee two initiatives of the Program to Enhance the Health and Development of Infant and Children (PEHDIC) at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Housed in the Department of Community and Specialty Pediatrics, this Program Manager will have a variety of key responsibilities related to an existing AAP Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program and a new initiative focused on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), respectively. The position will include program management, planning and implementation of educational activities, and oversight for the coordination, development and dissemination of program materials. The program manager will be responsible for working with AAP members and chapters as well as organization-wide implementation of activities. Additional position responsibilities include meeting planning, report writing and grants management.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, health policy, or related field, along with 2+ years experience in program coordination and management. Budget management and/or professional work experience in a medical association or national advocacy organization a plus. A Master's degree is preferred. Knowledge of public health issues, health education strategies, health promotion and disease prevention, screening and/or surveillance concepts preferred. Grants management experience a plus. Must be team-oriented with a willingness to learn, and have the ability to handle heavy workload, work independently, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously based on established timeframes.
