Launched during Hispanic Heritage Month, the Chicago Latino Network’s Hispanic Success Stories campaign celebrates the remarkable achievements and contributions of Latinos across every field — from education and business to the arts and activism.
These stories spotlight the resilience, creativity, and leadership that define our community. By sharing them, we honor those who came before us, uplift voices too often overlooked, and inspire younger generations to dream bigger and reach higher.
Today, we’re proud to highlight Fredy Quevedo Jr., Media Relations Specialist & Spanish Interpreter for the Chicago Cubs.
This season, the Cubs clinched a spot in the playoffs — and behind the scenes, Fredy has played a key role in ensuring that Latino players’ voices are heard authentically on and off the field. As both a media relations professional and interpreter, he bridges language and culture, connecting players with fans, media, and the broader community during some of baseball’s most high-pressure moments.
Fredy’s story is about more than baseball. It’s about representation, access, and mentorship. By guiding players through the spotlight, helping them share their journeys, and inspiring young Latinos who dream of careers in sports communications, he’s expanding what leadership looks like in professional athletics.
His success reminds us that when Latinos are given space to shine, entire communities rise with them.
