The topic for the breakfast is Social Media. Industry experts will share the most effective elements for measuring the revenue impact of Social Media, providing insights and case studies from an array of top companies. Clinical Instructor/Acute Nurse Practitioner – Neurosurgery

Job Summary
Serve as a clinical instructor and participate in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other health care disciplines. Provide comprehensive health care for assigned patients/community within Neurosurgery. This includes completion of a health assessment, determining diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment within the parameters of medical staff privileges at UIMC and area of expertise.

Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
Education

  • Serve as a clinical nursing instructor for assigned Acute Nurse Practitioners.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor in the College of Nursing as a member of an academic department and participate in curriculum development and instruction.
  • Participate in the educational experiences of nursing students, medical students, residents and other health care disciplines by leading case conferences, serving as a preceptor and mentor.
  • Coordinate and lead a journal club and quality or safety initiative by integrating practice and education for both students and staff.
Patient Care
  • Manage the care of acutely ill patients within area of expertise (neurosurgery) and within parameters of medical staff privileges.
  • Obtain relevant patient health history. Study and interpret patient tests and records.
  • Perform physical exam and record findings.
  • Perform various diagnostic, preventive and/or therapeutic procedures and/or order special screenings and developmental or laboratory tests to diagnose conditions; interpret results.
  • Prescribe/order appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and develop a treatment plan.
  • Develop an educational plan for patient/family.
  • Order appropriate consultation/referral.
  • Determine effectiveness of treatment plan with documentation of treatment provided and patient outcomes.
  • Reassess and modify plan with patient/family and treatment team within the parameters of medical staff privileges.
Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience
Master’s degree in Nursing and Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner.
A minimum of 2 years experience as an RN in Neurosurgery or critical care.
Spanish language is desired.

Working Conditions
General office environment. Regular travel not expected but may occur occasionally around previously scheduled events. Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, manual dexterity and fingering for working with computer key boards.

Spanish Teacher

Academy for Urban School Leadership

Collins Academy High School, an AUSL-managed Chicago Public School, is seeking one full time Spanish Teacher whose educational mission is to enhance and advance knowing, teaching, and learning. This position will be staffed with a professional educator who has a proven track record of providing excellent learning experiences that utilize a variety of instructional strategies that deepens students understanding of literacy.

Successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of the following:

  • Lessons and objectives that align with College Readiness Standards or state standards.
